Hot on the heels of Intoxicated, the first single by Peter Wilson versus Matt Pop, comes the second single “Stereo”, taken from the forthcoming album by the same name. The track was written by Peter Wilson, Ian Curnow and Dave Ford, and produced by Curnow/Ford. Both are mix/production legends in their own right, and probably best known for their work for PWL, with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Donna Summer, Mel & Kim and countless others. Needless to say, with so much pop royalty on board, Stereo is a perfect pop song, with a contemporary, dance/pop production.
The first club mix to be confirmed is the Matt Pop Club Mix, that caters to all of you who long for the days when bright-eyed, blond-haired Aussie soap stars dominated the charts. In other words, the Matt Mix sounds like a PWL track from 1989 🙂
Despite Matt Pop running the risk of forever being known as PWL boy – after similar style mixes for Sonia, Same Difference and Haywoode – Peter and Matt thought it would be perfect to do a retro mix for this song, because with Curnow/Ford on board, the PWL link was already there. Both Peter and Matt are huge fans of this amazing sound, that was developed by all the producers, mixers and engineers at The Hit Factory over the years. Hopefully, this remix of Stereo will be a fitting tribute to them!
Can’t wait to hear what you guys have in store ! I know it’s gonna be awesome !
