Almighty release NRG Anthems Volume 4, bursting with 80’s High Energy classics and there are no less than 3 Matt Pop productions on it! One of them even features Matt Pop on vocals as he goes all pervy on us, “singing” lines like “tips in my g-string made my living” and “built like a truck, I’d bump for a buck”. Well, the song IS Male Stripper ofcourse, so those lyrics are to dance music what Shakespeare‘s words were to the theatre. The two other tunes that get the Matt Pop treatment – and thankfully, not his vocals – are No Regrets by the amazing Lonnie Gordon and the gorgeous classic Endless Road, performed here by Systematic. NRG Anthems Vol. 4 is available as CD-r, WAV and MP3. http://www.almightyrecords.com/product/ALMYCD086/

Gay Times loves the “lost” Sam Fox tracks
Gay Times, one of the world’s oldest and most read Gay men’s magazines, had an exclusive preview of the Samantha Fox tracks That’s What Love Can Do and A Second Chance; the tunes that were started by PWL in 1991 and finished by Matt Pop in 2012. Their verdict? The word “amazing” was used 🙂 Both tracks are included on the deluxe re-issue of the album One More Night, released on Monday July 2, 2012. The July issue of GT, featuring a huge PWL special, is out now. http://www.gaytimes.co.uk/
Matt Pop releases update
As the Matt Pop fan page on Facebook welcomes more and more subscribers, and Matt ‘s YouTube channel is rapidly going for 2.000.000 video views, I think it is time for an update on the official Matt Pop releases that will be coming your way soon. Because Matt has been slaving away on many mixes this year and all of them seem to be released in June and July. Better put aside some of that vacation money, pop fans! A round-up:
Peter Wilson’s album Laser Light (4 Matt Pop productions, two of them co-written by Matt): released late June / early July.
Sammy Paul’s album 24 Hours (3 tracks produced by, 1 track mixed by Matt Pop): June / July (the single Supersonic Lover, produced by Matt will be released before that)
RuPaul: a whopping 7 Matt Pop mixes of tracks from Ru’s brilliant Glamazon album. One of these mixes will be making a regular appearance on one of Ru‘s tv shows soon. Mixes released sometime this summer.
Samantha Fox: A Second Chance and That’s What Love Can Do. The much talked about PWL tracks, additional production and mix by Matt Pop, feature on Just One Night (Deluxe Edition), released July 2, 2012. (this is the new release date, as given by Cherry Pop Records, due to a delay in the manufacturing process)
Pierre Pascual: France’s alternative, gender-bender glamrock electro prince releases his next single Deneuve Danse (an ode to French cinema queen Catherine) this summer, again with a fabulous Matt Pop club mix.
David Christopher: Unprotectable. This gorgeous song has been around for a long time and I can’t wait for the Matt Pop mix to be released! Again: scheduled for this summer.
Almighty Records: Matt Pop did quite a few mixes for Almighty this year; watch out for those on the Almighty site over the coming months. One very special track will actually feature Matt Pop’s vocals! Oh dear…
Teresa Marie: Walk Of Life. Great high-octane track that has already been sent out to Dj’s everywhere. It will feature on Teresa‘s upcoming album A Decade Of Dance.
So – there will be enough Matt Pop to keep your MP3 player occupied this summer! Keep checking this site or www.youtube.com/mattpopofficial for the latest releases.
