I’m Alive video premiere this Friday!

Since this week Peter Wilson releases the last single from his successful Pulsation album, we are celebrating it with not just teasers, but with a full length video for the Matt Pop-produced single I’m Alive, which is an absolute must-see for lovers of the golden age of the music video, The Eighties. It is a 7-minute montage of the era’s biggest, baddest and tackiest videos. We’re talking big hair, soft focus, make-up applied by the bucketload, ‘futuristic’ sets smothered in smoke, and dancers, dancers, dancers. The video will premiere this Friday, November 14, to coincide with the release of the I’m Alive E.P.

This mix started life as an unofficial Matt Pop mash-up between ABBA‘s Lay All Your Love On Me and Mysterious Times by Sash! featuring Tina Cousins with a dash of Dead Or Alive‘s You Spin Me Round thrown in for good measure. After years of trying to get Tina Cousins herself to re-record it, the fabulous Suzanna Dee came along and the re-creation of this popular bootleg was born. Coming soon: Almighty Records Gay Anthems: A Sky Full Of Stars featuring a brand new Matt Pop mix of Hypnotic Tango. Yes, I got to re-work the My Mine Italo classic, this time with gorgeous female vocals. Hypnotic Tango is one of my all-time favourite tracks and I had a blast making this mix. I absolutely loved the 2005 Bananarama remake of it, too (renamed Look On The Floor (Hypnotic Tango) for the occasion) so it was a challenge to give it a new spin.
