Matt Pop now on Soundcloud!

This week, Matt Pop put his first mixes on Soundcloud. At the same time, the Matt Pop  YouTube channel welcomed its 5.000th subscriber, AND crossed the 3.5 million views mark. To celebrate these three small milestones, Matt came up with a present that would combine them all: He uploaded his five most popular YouTube bootlegs (in terms of number of views) to Soundcloud and named the playlist Matt Pop: The Big 5. All tracks are download-enabled. To check out the Big 5, go here: https://soundcloud.com/matt-pop/sets/matt-pops-big-5 Matt Pop Big 5

Matt Pop produces album for Adam Lopez

I am very excited about my work with Adam Lopez. I am producing his upcoming album Kaleidoscope, which will be a varied pop/dance album with some very impressive vocal work. Well, what else would you expect from a man with such an astounding, record-breaking vocal range (I am not just saying that; look him up!). I just finished a track for him where he sings a B5 note – beautifully. I don’t know if you have an idea about musical scales but a B5 is very, very high.  However, the album won’t be simply Adam showing off his singing skills, we are going for a solid, cohesive, toe-tapping, sing-a-long, play-from-start-to-finish good old-fashioned pop-album. And with 9 tracks already done, I think we are doing just that. More info and soundclips closer to the release date, some time in 2014. Stay tuned! kaleidoscope

Matt Pop Christmas Message

I can’t help getting caught up in the festive spirit, so here is my attempt at a Christmas message. It has been a fantastic year for me, working with such a varied and talented bunch of artists (I won’t start naming names because I will leave too many out, but just go through my YouTube uploads of the past year to see what I mean). The Energise party at The Black Cap in London this summer was an absolute highlight, and I am really happy to have met some of you there. I am already planning for some great new releases with Energise for next year, so watch out for those. There have been quite a few new regulars on this page and some of you have been saying very nice things about my work, for which I am very grateful. It is always scary to let people hear something you have made (and love) so the encouragement does my heart good. Some of my unofficial remixes even got the thumbs up from the artists themselves (Men Without Hats, Erasure) which was pretty surreal. But it is not all compliments and niceties, as I also had my very own internet troll trying to shit on my cake now and then, so to speak, but since many famous and talented people get stalkers and trolls, I will take it as a compliment. I said I wouldn’t single people out, but a special mention has to go to Energise Records for getting me all those great projects to work on, and for being such a warm and friendly bunch, and the same goes for Almighty Records, who have also became dear personal friends of mine over the years. So, thank you to everyone for enjoying the pop and I will see you all next year! Warmest wishes to you all, Matt Pop.
